Description

"Holidays in Cannes 2026" 146 x 114 cm / 45"x 57.5" is a moment of absolute, weightless happiness frozen on canvas. At the heart of this large-scale, air-filled composition lie my most deeply felt and tender maternal emotions—a heartfelt contemplation of my beloved son's vacation with his girlfriend, who became the main characters of this fantastic flight over the French Riviera.

Above the azure of the Bay of Cannes, fading into the ochre-pink and purple gradients of the sunset, I have unveiled a true miracle. A fairytale trio of golden-red fish soars upward, their lush, semi-transparent tails vibrating and blending into one another, creating a powerful rhythm of upward motion and leaving the silhouettes of yachts and the city's evening lights far below. In this piece, the fish carry a profound spiritual meaning: they act as an ancient symbol of elemental natural protection and supreme power, guarding the lovers on their journey. Both the water and air elements are subordinate to this trio.

The figures of the girl in her flowing dress and the young man are filled with romance, echoing the finest traditions of modernism. Through their form, I wanted to convey a complete absence of earthly gravity—leaving only the pure energy of youth and freedom. I envisioned this painting as a manifesto of happiness, a hymn to youth and endless tenderness, captured in the very heart of the Cannes summer.

I am a French artist and architect of Ukrainian origin, working across painting, sculpture, and bas-relief. My practice emerges from the meeting point of architectural structure and symbolic imagination, where form becomes a vessel for emotion, memory, and transformation. Trained at the Vilnius Academy of Arts in both architecture and fine arts, I have developed a body of work shaped by a continuous dialogue between precision and intuition, order and poetry, material presence and inner resonance. As an architect, I am deeply attentive to proportion, structure, and spatial harmony. As an artist, I am drawn to metaphor, atmosphere, and the emotional charge of form. My work often explores the relationship between the human and the natural world, between fragility and strength, stillness and metamorphosis. Through figurative and allegorical compositions, I seek to express the silent connections between outer reality and inner experience. Nature, light, and the body become languages through which I explore tenderness, memory, vulnerability, and the invisible layers of lived experience. I am especially interested in the way art can inhabit space — not only as an object of contemplation, but as a living presence that shapes the atmosphere of an interior and invites a deeper emotional response. Whether through painting or sculptural form, I aim to create works that carry a sense of harmony, elevation, and poetic reflection.
