Description

Here we have a classic electric guitar, up close and personal. Imagine the stories it could tell, the music it's created, and the dreams it helped bring to life.

Look at those gleaming strings and polished wood. Each knob—volume and tone—whispers promises of melodies waiting to be unleashed. Can you hear it? The strum of a chord, the hum of creativity, the rhythm of life itself.

I mean, who hasn’t daydreamed about jamming out on a stage, the crowd swaying to the sound? This beauty isn’t just an instrument; it’s a portal to moments of joy, connection, and maybe a little bit of chaos.

So, what do you think? If this guitar could talk, what would it say about your next jam session?

For this series, I wanted to showcase my old electric guitar. It's a simple instrument really. Six strings, three pickups, a stock bridge. Nothing magical about it at first glance. No, the magic happens in the hands of the artist. Just as in the visual arts (I'm a practicing photographer.) the magic comes through the voice of the artist. The sounds you can play, the potential, the rock and roll spirit, it all comes out through the wood and the grain, the pickups and the bridge. The steel strings glistening in the light, waiting for you to play your favorite song. As a visual artist, I'm drawn to the abstract, to the lines, to the shapes, to the patterns objects make on the world. I wanted to explore the guitar in this way, as a form and subject itself. The guitar is a hunk of wood, yes, but it's got a soul and a spirit too. I believe that every detail has a story to tell. Whether it’s the glint of sunlight on a water surface or the intricate patterns of a guitar, I aim to reveal the beauty that often goes unnoticed. This is a close up look at a guitar. It's a simple instrument really. One from which many dreams are made.
