Artist StatementI believe art heals. I believe that now, more than ever, World needs the positive energy and spiritually-based intentions, beliefs and values. I believe in the inter-connectedness of mind, body and spirit. I believe that art as a powerful form of self-expression is a vehicle for emotional, physical, mental and spiritual well-being. A holistic therapist and artist I developed my own unique “Healing ARTS” which enhances well-being in a viewer and allows healing to those in need.To be honest, I think nobody really understands HOW healing occurs. Thus, as an artist, therapist, and scientist I needed to create my own model of understanding, a “modus operandi” if you wish - a concept, modality, technique, and style which somehow allows me to use my skills and gifts as a healer and artist, via ART form, to make a difference in people’ lives. My "Healing Arts" is a unique platform that integrates Fine Art, Expressive Arts, and the Art of Healing. Communicating on subliminal levels, it delivers a healing message through positively charged intention, embedded spiritual “communiques”, certain frequencies of colors (spectrum), and energetically balanced composition.Coming from a family of scientists I've always been fascinated by the left and right brain relationship which led me to study many things - from mathematics and science to psychology, therapy and healing to fine art, and finally create my unique venue "Healing Arts". A refugee from the former Soviet Union, I believe tragedy, pain, trauma can be healed with beauty, positive energy, self-expression and spirituality.I believe "experiencing" my art in-person is most beneficial due to live vibrations of bright colors, heavy textures, usually large size, and an overall charisma and high energy. My canvases are varied, vibrant, some are raw, some refined, all - intuitive. There are bridges to the past, Galaxies and Universes, cities in the rain, music, fields of sunflowers, hearts, moons, oceans and sunsets... Yet, there is always a mosaic of certain colors, shapes and forms, arrays of symbolism and spiritual messages present in my art: being on your Journey, going towards the Light, following your Path, awareness of “Here and Now”, and of course - 'J'oie de Vivre'!By awakening senses, memories, energies, and thoughts of the Divine, my compositions lead a viewer to tap into their own Source to allow healing to take place. My art is not just viewed but experienced. A viewer is invited to experience not only an artistic enigma and mastery, but – to embrace a very positive aura of my compositions, to have their own spiritual experience and profound realization(s) while feeling energized and enlightened.I believe that art is a catalyst for healing individuals, society and the environment. I feel privileged to be among visionary artists who share the belief about the healing power of art. My vibrant passionate “Healing Arts” is a statement of all my beliefs. She's been developing her unique concept & venue “HealingArts” for over 25 years, and believes it is a vehicle for well-being to enhance healing to those in need. Helen was born in a cold Siberian winter in what then was the USSR. Growing up in a Communist State where oppression and control were a daily reality formed her beliefs, values, and a great respect for freedom to express yourself. In 1991 her quest for freedom led her to the US, whereto she brought her Jewish heritage, a couple of Graduate degrees, zero English, and an unending thirst to explore the World and its meaning.Helen’s been painting as long as she remembers, since 2004 does it professionally. She works predominantly with oils and acrylics, experimenting with mixed mediums, obviously loves impressionism and expressionism, and has been developing her unique Abstract Impressionism-Expressionism style as an “EnergyART”. Dr. Kagan, as a pioneer in creating art with the intention to heal, brings together Fine Art, Expressive Arts, and the Art of Healing by integrating healing frequencies of color, positively charged intention, embedded spiritual messages, and energetically balanced composition. Her art is not just viewed but experienced.
