Artist Statement

Yasuo Oda employs a distinctive technique he calls the "digital blend technique" to create artwork from multiple layers of photos seamlessly blended together. Each layer interacts through specific blend options, producing unexpected effects unattainable with a single photo. His creations often evoke surreal or ethereal feelings, making viewers feel as though they are caught between a dream and reality. In his Beatles Series, Oda transforms music and notes into visual art compositions and colors. This concept stems from the idea that both color and musical notes are derived from waves. For instance, note A at 440 Hz corresponds to the color red when its wavelength is shortened to one tera.Inspired by this connection, Oda listens to music and devises a color range that reflects the song. He then begins creating the artwork using multiple photos and his digital blend technique. This exploration of the interplay between sound and color has led to a unique and innovative approach in the art world, opening up infinite possibilities.
