I believe art can make us see the world around us from a different perspective. It enhances our experience and can evoke many emotions. The challenge for me as an artist is to transform my impressions of the world around me into paintings that speak to others.

Daniel Devon is a painter specializing in (abstract) scenes from the natural world and portraits. He lives in the south of Spain, where the Mediterranean light reflects off the ocean’s surface and bounces back from the mountain tops. He finds the inspiration for his artworks in plants, animals, land- and seascapes, and of course in people – their smiles, gestures and interactions.Daniel uses various mediums for his paintings, including (alkyd) oil, watercolor, acrylic ink and charcoal. He likes to experiment with mixed media and creating intricate textures to show the interaction of light and color.Daniel spent his youth in tropical countries which is where a lot of his inspiration derives from. He has drawn and painted all his life and has followed dedicated drawing and painting classes for several years.
