I have been passionate about art my entire life. But not till I discovered artistic digital softwares did I find my creative voice. Twenty years ago I began creating original SYFY inspired 3D artworks in Bryce that received rave reviews in local creative competitions. Despite the enthusiastic reviews I put my art on hold to further my graphic design education and career, but the desire to create unique originals always lingered. So several years ago I began to create new and more interesting digital works but was limited by the software. It occurred to be to experiment with the Adobe software I use everyday in my career to explore creative possibilities. I began overlapping and manipulating, in Photoshop randomly taken digital photos over nude which appealed to a select retail market but felt I could take my creatively even further. Inspired by the surrealist Roberto Matta I began creating unique shapes in Illustrator that I merged in Photoshop with my digital photography. The result is a collection of truly unique modern abstracts that have a distinct visual voice. They are reflection of how modern technology can be used to create collector worthy originals.
I earned my Masters of Arts degree in Fine Graphic Design from Full Sail University. In 2009 I launched my freelance graphic design career under my initials CGM. Since then I have created original brand logos, product packaging, event displays, book covers, corporate documents, promotional and marketing materials for client employers in a range of retail and service industries.
