Artist Statement
Eyes are the windows to the soul. That is why I focus on eyes pretty much in my surreal women's portraits. As I am quite obsessed with details it always takes some time to finish an artwork and if my soul needs a rest I start creating abstract art. No plan - just letting my inspiration flow. It is like a vacation.
Bio
Britta Glodde is a digital artist from Germany with Spanish residency. She has been drawing and painting since her father taught her and her style and techniques changed several times over the years: "I love trying new techniques. That's how I discovered the possibilities of digital art. I started with 3D rendering about 12 years ago, then I moved on to digital painting and for some time now I have been incorporating parts of photos into my works. My style may have changed over time, but my preferred subjects have not. I have a weakness for female beauty (faces and eyes mainly). I like to portray my fantasy ladies in a surreal context and my favorite series deals with women and food - which is not surprising when you know how passionate I am about feasting." "Another passion of mine is doing abstract designs and playing with very simple shapes. That is why I created my alter ego "The Shapeist". As the name implies, it is all about shape and color and light and texture. In contrast to my surreal art I act freely, when I create abstract works. No plan, just some colors and a vage idea of how shapes interact with each other in my mind. The rest just happens.""Sometimes I do typography art. Why? Because there are some messages which I believe should be heard and transported to others. May they serve as a reminder or a helpful affirmation to lead a happier life."
