Michael DiMatteo

My name is Michael DiMatteo, I’m 23 and I’ve been taking photographs for three years. I love telling stories through an image and I love creating new content as well. I'm a great fit for this position because of my background in photography, outlook on life and experience of having been in so many different environments. Whether it's senior portraits, rock concerts, breathtaking landscapes, or 35mm film there's freedom in photography and being able to create something that can touch on so many emotions. Photography allows the person to put their unique stamp in every image which is something I’ve always appreciated.

On an everyday basis I confront offer me social, physical, and mental barriers that test my capabilities as a human being. Photography is the outlet that rids me of the stress and anxiety when dealing with those challenges and when I shoot I’m constantly thinking two things: What can I bring to it that no one else can and how to continually beautify things that from the rest of the world’s perspective are not worth capturing pictures of but instead should be left alone. I’m always striving for more drive, to be better today than I was yesterday, and to capture unsung moments that stand out and these photographs are a culmination of all that along with my continued mission to explore deep feelings, different places, and distinguished objects that push myself to the limit.
