Attracted to the patterns, angles and circular motifs of some of the common objects in the aisles of a dollar store, the artist used her photos to create a captivating composition of color and shape that feels like a diptych with a jarring sense of asymmetry. The repetition of geometric forms, broken by shards of light and shadow, invoke both a meditative quality of the mandala with an added dimension of contemporary abstraction.
