Medium: Tempera, watercolor, mixed media on cotton paper
Commentary: Series of murals for Netflix Headquarters in Amsterdam painted in Delft Blue style and presented on large 55 x 55 cm porcelain tiles. Artist was given the full artistic freedom to create 25 artworks based on Netflix Original series and movies with one condition — all heroes and iconic imagery should be recognizable with given personality and dramatic interest.
This scene is based on the sci-fi horror film Annihilation, itself based on the novel. The story follows a group of scientists who enter The Shimmer, a mysterious quarantined zone of mutating plants and animals.
