Description: The challenge was to design small mail use stamps to celebrate the beauty and variety of Northern American frogs with enough important defining features to make each recognizable. The subtle changes to the many green tones, with details including spots, underbelly, and toes in shades of brown, accentuated the differences among the four frogs. To facilitate recognition, each frog was shown sitting on a typical plant found in its native habitat. For visual interest, the digital image on each stamp included a bit of overlap where the frog's leg or toes extend slightly beyond the rectangle that contains it.
