Kathryn Gastelum
Arizona, USA
As an Arizona artist residing in Tucson, I find abstraction thought provoking, progressive and sophisticated which becomes my own improvisation in color on canvas. I'm inspired by our stunning colorful Southwest skies along with Jazz music which translates into rhythmic and harmonious compositions on both on my silk scarves and my paintings created with oil and cold wax medium. I received my BFA in Graphic Design from the U of Arizona and later studied Interior Design and joining ASID as an Allied Member for several years. As a full time professional artist, my recent career highlights have been exhibiting in major art expos this past year at Red Dot Miami, ArtExpo New York and Art Santa Fe this Summer 2023 with representation by Jen Tough Gallery/Artist Alliance Collective, in addition to a two page spread in Contemporary Artist magazine.
