Description

My Travel Guide - A toy / art4kids

The inspiration for the creation of the toys My Travel Guides is our world's cultures.

The toys present a selection of main characteristics of one or more cultures.

The main idea is a practical, comfortable, and easy-to-handle soft fabric design for babies and toddlers.

The narrative toys force creativity, memory, and the ability to recognize things.

Children enjoy playing and telling stories about their own and foreign cultures, and trips they made.

The project began in 2004: My Travel Guide Korea and product variants (concept) were designed.

The cubes "Munich" and the picture book "Korea" have been displayed in international art exhibitions.

The project started in 2004 by realizing My Travel Guide Korea (soft cloth book) and

the main concept incl. some product variations.

In 2005, My Travel Guide Korea was displayed in, Kaunas, Lithuania: Textile O5.

The idea was continued by the realization of My Travel Guide (Cubes) Munich (2 blocks).

The 2 blocks were first displayed in 2007, Small Works, in the Olive Hyde Art Gallery,

in Fremont (CA), USA; then in the following exhibition in 2008

The Art of the Book at the Pacific Festival of the Book, in VAC, Victoria, Canada.

I am a designer, illustrator, and multi-disciplinary visual artist. I have a great passion for art and design, toys and children´s literature, fashion and textiles, and photography. Some themes of my independent artworks are redesign, childhood, and the discussion of humanity, our modern life, and “our world cultures.” I am always interested in new creative collaborations and in joining a "Dream Team.” My photographic art encompasses NFTs, fine art, printing, street photography, mobile photography, urban snapshots, and documentation. As an activist, I also focus on contemporary issues and human rights subjects, visualizing and questioning the state of our lives and planet. I emphasize the need to take responsibility for small and essential contemporary, social, and environmental issues. Available for Hire. Interested in relocating, too. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to receive any further information. Open for commission/customized design and illustrations. Enjoy Art & Life. B a r b a r a Schneider
