Janal Koenig

Artist of over 30 years. Inspired by life, the strength and beauty of creation. Blown away by the vivid faces and places by National Geographic photographers in the 80’s. Favorite Masters of art?Rembrandt Van Rijn, saw a self portrait in Boston that brought tears to my eyes, his variety and use of brushes is a marvel. Since painting Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose - John Singer Sargent, specifically his plein air, non commissioned pieces, loose and bright, lovely texture. Jim Henson a creator of puppets who filled my youth with endearing Muppets, and my fine arts teacher, Mr. Sergio De Paoli who saw my love for painting and gave me oil painting supplies to practice over the summer. I hope to pay it forward.
