A Circle a Day Keeps the Square Away: Circles Art Competition
Simple, sleek, circular, or rough, rigid, round, Artrepreneur wants to see your best!
Kathy Ferguson, "Nantucket Summer" (2019)
Deadline for entries: January 31, 2024
"A circle is a round straight line with a hole in the middle." - Mark Twain
Of all the shapes that exist in our universe, the circle is the most intriguing. Without corners or edges, it flows endlessly in a beautiful loop. For thousands of years, this simple yet profound shape has signified unity, wholeness and infinity. Circles and spheres can reflect the deepest mysteries of life.
Does your work capture the fluidity of bending lines? Do you gravitate towards roundness and circularity? For this open call, Artrepreneur is excited to see how CIRCLES influence your work.
Julie Pelaez, "Everyday Yay: Here's to Finding the Car..." (2023)
Corné Akkers, "Roundism – 30-01-20" (2020)
Magdolna Toth, "Untitled" (2021)

Jurors
Kate KellyI attended Syracuse University and majored in French Literature, an experience that inspired me to start my first blog, FauxFrench.
While my writing career was beginning to develop, I worked as an illustration agent at Morgan Gaynin Inc., a premiere boutique agency in New York. Ten happy years were spent dedicated to representing our artists and connecting them with high profile projects in publishing, advertising, editorial, and more.
Since then, I have used my talents in various capacities, including research, journalism, curation, and education. My personal career highlights include being published in VICE Magazine (print and online) and working directly with the Royal Collection Trust and historian Dr. Amanda Foreman to curate the 2019 Buckingham Palace Summer Open.
I am thrilled to dive back into the art world as a curator for Artrepreneur and couldn't be more excited to connect with the diverse talent that's represented here.
